03.09DIY Re-Upholstery, Threadbanger
Happy Mother’s Day! This week we are re-upholstering 6 antique dining room chairs, and learning how to re-cover a vintage ottoman. Upholstery is an art I have never tackled before, and this week we give new life to an old piece with organic fabric. We provide a quick tip that will keep your linens smelling fresh. There is also a special viewer submission in this episode of a cool way to recycle your family’s old vacation slides. Links in this episode: Bust Magazine – http://www.bust.com …

What a load of crap! Don’t they bother to match patterns in the States? It would have looked so much better if she’d just lined the stripes up between the front and the top … sorry, but it just screams ‘botch’ to me.

The mixed collection of fabrics look better on your chairs than if you’d just gone with one choice. NICE! And piping is HARD- stellar work!

I didn’t want my lines to match. I’m not a real matchy-matchy person. YOU go right on ahead and match it all up perfectly and send in the video of your project. I’d love to see your perfect craftmanship!

Vodka is scentless and the alcohol in it kills germs and keeps the ingredients separated.
Try it, it smells lovely.
March 9th, 2009 at 7:28 am
Yeah, it’s much easier to judge than to actually do what she does. The ottoman looks killer! And wow, she showed us piping and a whole other chair tutorial.
