Yea he didn’t have the courtesy of answering you either way though. Not very nice of him. In fact I was interested in your question too and would love to know the answer. Next time just ask someone who knows more about solar power or someone who does it for a living.

Still no reply, i guess i stumped you with my question, fair enough.

I have bought this system and it works very well. I use it to charge a deep cell battery, which powers a 12v bug zapper (Eureka) in my yard, as well as all of my landscaping lights in the yard. I found some very powerful LEDs on ebay. The setup works very well. I am considering adding a small fountain to the system, to see if it can support that as well.

  11. eddiequest4 says:

haha – Dan u r a funny one. I think you should use that new solar system to power an array of bug zappers. LOL

  12. MrSkaramanga says:

Dan, I see you have answered someone above on a question which was asked about one day after mine. Maybe you missed my question above……….can you help me with this?

  13. GREENPOWERSCIENCE says:

    Hi,

You can do 6 panels per controller or 90 watts. You can also hook 2 controllers together to one bank. So, if you had 4 systems, 2 to 1 controller (6panels to 1) and 2 to another controller = 180 watts, then both controller to battery leads can be connected in series or parallel for 12 V…15 amp or 24v…7.5 amp either way would produce 180 watts.

    Dan

  14. thepvcbikeguy says:

If I were to get more then one kit could I connect all to one controller? and yes I no that I’d get a other controller, but could I put all on on controller.

Ohhhhh Ohhhhhhhh Dan, It’s Dan – I wouldn’t swap HIM for all the sea men in the ocean….

Dan leave Denise and come with me!

She is mean, she puts squirrels inside of fans and can’t use a tool…

Oh Dan… I love you, your so hot…..

    QUESTION:

I have 2- 6 volt golf cart batteries which I have wired in series to get 12 volts. I want to get another 2 of the exact same battery, wire those 2 in series as well to get 12 volts. If I want to connect the first 2 batteries with the 2nd pair of batteries to have a 4 battery/12 volt bank, how do I do that, connect them in parallel?

  17. amigamaxx says:

I wondered about this as well, but I -suspect- they have them built in as the place the wires are attached to the panels has a little black boxy thing on each panel. This would definitely be a concern for me as this is a very likely scenario with their presesnt placement in my yard + am using a large mirror to deflect evening & morning sun into them. I guess I’ll have to look now…

  18. Yellow2011 says:

I am a little uncomfortalble with the fact, that you don’t seperate the pannels with diodes in case one of them is in shade and the others are in full sun

  19. 123gt says:

I have the older version of this kit. I bought it used for $20. The original charge controller sold with these kits are garbage.

I felt just like Dan in the bloopers the first time I tried setting up this system.

  20. amigamaxx says:

Timing is perfect – just got 2 sets – I had set up 1 already. I will be tying 2 panels to a 3 battery parallel 12v system. Looking for deals on grid tie inverter & need to repair my Xantrex 1000W portawattz AC inverter. I got 400W sale at HF for $30 + 30A charge controller for $79. Now to hook it all up…

Need good source for fuses, wire, and high current switches!! Kitty got stage time too! See… starving for attention. Typical :^)

I’ve had one of these Harbor Freight systems running for over 18 months now. It recently went through a rather strong hail storm.
    Zero problems

Very nice video. I glad to see I’m not the only one with bloopers. Hate the mosquitoes love the cat! Be careful West Nile is everywhere.
